The mean end-of-day balance across the statement period, and the primary measure of remittance capacity.
A merchant averaging $2,000 cannot service a $500 daily remittance regardless of monthly revenue. This is why an ask sized against revenue rather than balance signals to an underwriter that the file was not read.
