Broker registration

Definition

A state requirement that a firm brokering commercial financing register with a regulator before doing so.

Texas, New York, California, Virginia, Utah, Georgia and Florida have requirements attached to their commercial financing regimes. Registration is the obligation a regulator can verify with a database query rather than an investigation, which is why it matters disproportionately.
