Consolidation

Definition

A single new advance used to pay off two or more existing positions, replacing several remittances with one.

Genuinely useful for a merchant whose daily obligations have become unmanageable, and frequently the more responsible option than another stack. The cost is usually higher than any individual position it replaces, because the funder is taking on the whole exposure.
