Reverse consolidation

Definition

A funding arrangement in which a new funder makes periodic payments toward a merchant’s existing positions rather than paying them off outright.

The merchant’s daily obligations reduce because the new funder services the old positions, while the merchant repays the new funder on different terms. Structurally complex, priced accordingly, and the existing agreements remain in place throughout.
