The state office that holds a state’s business entity and UCC filing records, and the office a UCC-1 is filed with.
Every state runs its own, with its own fees, formats and rules, and there is no national UCC register behind them. What each will sell in bulk varies just as much, from free open data to a signed subscription agreement negotiated one office at a time.
Why it matters to a broker
For most brokers the office matters for something smaller — confirming the entity name on an application is the entity the bank statements belong to.
